CUSTOMER APPRECIATION/BBQ DAY AT MID-AMERICA TILE
On May 20th, dozens of Mid-America Tile customers visited our Elk Grove Village headquarters as we celebrated Customer Appreciation/BBQ Day. Not only were customers treated to some great food, they were also eligible for special One Day Only deals and valuable raffle prizes. Several Mid-America Tile suppliers were on hand to provide up close and personal product demonstrations. All in all, it was a very enjoyable day on a picture perfect late-Spring afternoon.
C.H. ROBINSON WORLDWIDE RECOGNIZES MID-AMERICA TILE
Mid-America Tile has been cited by C.H. Robinson Worldwide, Inc. as their 2009 New Customer of the Year. The trophy was presented to Sue McGee, Mid-America Tile Director of Operations, and Jeanette Wilson, Customer Service Manager, in recognition of having the highest volume of LTL loads moved of any of the 154 new C.H. Robinson customers for their Akron, OH Branch in 2009. Adding to this impressive achievement was the fact that Mid-America Tile did not move their first shipment with C.H. Robinson until April, 2009.
Architects and Designers Earning CEU Credits
Mid-America Tile offers a monthly program to help Architects and Design professionals earn CEU credits for AIA (American Institute of Architects). Each month, we are hosting accredited presentations put on by an array of industry experts such as MAPEI, Wedi Corp., Florida Tile, Johnsonite and others. These FREE educational opportunities, held at the Chicago Tile Institute in The Merchandise Mart, have been met with great enthusiasm from the architectural community.
Mid-America Tile and Exceptional Surfaces Join Forces
Mid-America Tile has entered into an exclusive distributorship agreement with Exceptional Surfaces, a Crossville company. Under this agreement, Mid-America Tile will be the sole distributor for Exceptional Surfaces porcelain, metal, and glass tile lines throughout northern Illinois, northwest Indiana and southern Wisconsin.
Thomas J. Kotel, President of Mid-America Tile states, "Mid-America Tile is very pleased to be the exclusive distributor for Exceptional Surfaces. With the newest technology and world class logistics out of Crossville, TN, we are excited to take this line to market."
This new venture continues Mid-America Tile's committment to bringing our customers the finest quality and cutting-edge styles of tile in the industry.
GREENGUARD
The recently released new National Green Building Standard requires that hard surface flooring have GREENGUARD for Children and Schools Certification to be considered a healthy choice for indoor environmental quality. We are very pleased to announce that one of Mid-America Tile's major suppliers, Florida Tile, is the only supplier of tile and stone products that has attained GREENGUARD certification.
Green Building Standard
The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) in cooperation with the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the International Code Council (ICC) have created this green building standard to help bring clarity to the often confusing question, "What makes a building green?" The National Green Building Standard was accepted as an official ANSI standard on January 29, 2009. This standard takes its place beside the widely recognized LEED program in recognizing the GREENGUARD Children and Schools Certification for hard surface flooring.
